Fine Vintage 9ct, 9k, 375 Gold Greyhound & Diamond Hare, Rabbit, bunny brooch and tie pin, London 1968
This quality brooch depicts a greyhound chasing a tiny diamond studded rabbit (stick pin).
Realistically
modelled in a rich 9ct yellow gold, the greyhound has a textured finish
representing the fur, it has fine facial features including an open
mouth with teeth, ears and nose, the eyes are embellished with a two,
rubies. He appears to be snarling as he chases the tiny rabbit.
Beautifully
made, the greyhound measures 55.2 x 12.9 x 11mm and weighs 11.5 grams,
it is hallmarked 9ct gold, London 1968 and has the makers mark AD.
The greyhound is attached to the rabbit stick pin with a fine trace link gold chain.
The
rabbit stickpin looks earlier (probably made around the Edwardian
period) it is a tiny diamond studded rabbit leaping away from the
greyhound, the rabbit is three dimensional and is intricately made with
eight tiny rose-cut diamonds and a tiny cabachon ruby for the eye.
Complete with pin and overlocking C-clasp fitting.
A rare find! this brooch & stick pin is beautifully presented in a new black leatherette and velvet box as displayed.
