An early Victorian, large Cameo brooch, depicting an artist and his muse. This lovely high relief cameo carving is framed in a rope and bead decorated surround.

Pinchbeck is a form of brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, combined together so that it closely resembles gold in appearance. It was invented in the early 18th century by Christopher Pinchbeck, a London clock and watchmaker.
