Victorian 9ct Gold Black Onyx and rose-cut Diamond earrings, Circa 1880
Antique Pair of Gold, black onyx and diamond earrings, mounted in 9carat yellow gold with shepherd hook fittings. These earrings date from the late Victorian period when Queen Victoria went into mourning, black onyx jewellery became popular and was used extensively in mourning jewellery.
Each earring features an oval 6.5 x 9mm domed, flat backed onyx mounted with a tiny rose-cut diamond in the centre, complete with gold surround and back – please see images.
These earrings are perfect for everyday and evening wear.
Hallmarks: none tested as 9carat gold.
