Victorian 9ct, 9k, 375 Rose Gold Torpedo, foliate, ivy engraved cufflinks, Birmingham 1896
A quality pair of Victorian, 9ct gold, torpedo cufflinks with an engraved Ivy leaf pattern.
Each cufflink is shaped like a torpedo (hence the name).
The Victorians often used motifs and designs with hidden messages, ivy represents everlasting love and may well have been given to a groom on his wedding day!
Hallmarked as follows: 9, 375 (denotes 9carat gold), anchor (birmingham assay mark) and ‘w’ (date letter for 1896).
