Victorian 9ct, 9k, 375 gold Turquoise & natural Pearl, ‘forget me knot” mourning ring, dated 1866
Antique, early Victorian Turquoise and pearl ring featuring a central seed pearl surrounded by six, cabochon Turquoise gemstones mounted in a crimped setting. The shoulders are beautifully decorated with etching that continues the whole way around the shank.
The fantastic crisp and clear hallmarks read as follows:
375/9 (denotes 9ct gold), Anchor (Birmingham Assay office), R (date letter for 1866) together with the maker’s mark W.G.M. (Walter & George Myers).
The head of the ring measures 9.8 x 9.3mm.
The matrix turquoise is a wonderful sky blue colour and the natural seed pearl is a silvery grey – all gemstones look to be original.
