French hallmark of horses head, Circa 1840
An early Victorian, stickpin designed as a cross with a cabachon Turquoise gemstone, mounted in a claw setting with four rose-cut diamonds forming the shape of a cross.
The Turquoise measures 14.4 x 11.4mm and is a lovely, vibrant blue colour – you can see the natural matrix verso.
The four rose-cut diamonds each measure approx 1.5mm.
This stunning pin has romantic notions, both Turquoise and Diamonds represent eternal love – this stickpin was most likely worn by a groom on his wedding day!
Hallmarked with the French horses head (denotes 18carat gold).
Beautifully presented in antique stickpin box as displayed.
