Exquisite, Victorian 18ct Gold Sapphire, Pearl & Diamond Heart and Crown, Romantic Ring, Circa 1901
A Romantic, Victorian, Sapphire, Pearl & diamond heart & crown ring, featuring a pear shaped Sapphire surrounded by ten, seed pearls mounted in the design of a heart, above the heart sits a crown formed with two pearl mounted crescents with a centre diamond, all beautifully worked in 18carat yellow gold.
The romantic Victorians often used romantic motifs in their jewellery designs, the meaning behind this ring is as follows:

The two crescent moons (forming the crown) represent new beginning (as husband and wife)
This gemstone mounted heart & crown ring dates back to the late 19th Century and would probably have been gifted to a bride on her wedding day.
The Sapphire measures 4.5 x 3.5mm and is a beautiful royal blue.
