Exquisite Victorian 18ct, 18k, 750 Gold Old-cut Diamond & Ruby five stone boat ring, Birmingham 1915
Five old-cut gemstones adorn this quintessential Victorian ring, beautifully made in 18ct yellow gold with three Rubies and two rose-cut diamonds, mounted in a delicately carved scrolling gallery and plain shank.
The centre Ruby measures 3mm and is flanked by two x 2mm, old rose-cut Diamonds and two, 2mm Rubies. Giving a total carat weight of around 0.23ct
The Rubies are a lovely ‘pigeons blood’ red colour, unfortunately there is a chip on the centre Ruby (visible under a jewellers loupe).
Hallmarked: crown, 18 (denotes 18ct gold), anchor (birmingham assay mark), q (Date for 1915 to 1916)
Ruby is the traditional birthstone for July
Diamond is the traditional birthstone for April
Looks great worn as an engagement ring or stacked with other rings.
The width of the ring is 7mm and length across the finger is 18mm.
