Stunning, Victorian 15ct, 15k, 625 Rose Gold Amethyst (41ct) brooch, 30x19x14mm, Circa 1880
Fabulous Victorian brooch beautifully made in 15carat rose gold, featuring a large 30 x 19 x 14mm faceted Amethyst gemstone mounted in a deep basket setting. Complete with double prong pin and C-clasp fitting. The double prong acts as a stabiliser to support the weight of the gemstone when worn.
The Amethyst is a beautiful purple with pink and lilac hues, estimated carat weight: 41 carats

Amethyst is the traditional birthstone for February.
Favoured by Catherine the Great (Empress Catherine II of Russia, 1729–1796) and the famous jewellery connoisseur Wallis, Duchess of Windsor (1896–1986), who made a memorable statement when she wore a lavish Cartier-designed amethyst bib necklace to a gala in Versailles in 1953.
