Stunning Cultured Pearl 3 row necklace on Antique Sapphire & Diamond clasp Pearls – circa 1920 , Clasp – circa 1800 A beautiful triple row, Cultured Pearl necklace with three rows of uniformed Akoya Saltwater pearls graduating in size from a central 8mm to a 3mm Pearl. Measurements as follows:
shortest row – 18.75″/ 48cm , middle row – 20″ / 51 cm longest row – 21.5″ / 55cm The pearls have been hand knotted onto an Antique, Georgian silver Diamond and Sapphire butterfly style clasp, the clasp measures 22.5 x 17.5mm and is encrusted with a mixture of rose-cut and cushion-cut diamonds. The clasp is designed in the style of a butterfly, the wings are mounted with a central 3mm Sapphire and a 3mm Diamond and the wings and body are decorated with diamonds. In relatively good condition for its age the clasp has one diamond missing, there is half a diamond in a setting and one of the diamonds has been replaced with a paste stone.
There are a total of twenty seven and a half diamonds and one Sapphire (possibly synthetic) Diamonds have all been tested as genuine! The Pearls are lovely pale cream colour with pink and gold tones, they exhibit a good, thick nacre and mirror like sheen.
This stunning necklace will be delivered in a new black leatherette and velvet box.
