Art Deco 18ct Ruby & Diamond two stone twist ring, 0.60ct, Circa 1930
This gorgeous engagement ring dates back to the Art Deco period and features a 4.2mm European-cut Diamond and a 4.2mm faceted Ruby in a cross-over design. There is an inscription inside the ring that reads -: to margaret from Dennis (this could easily be removed).
This style of ring is often referred to as ‘toi’ et ‘moi’ (you and me) and is a popular choice for an engagement ring. Believed to have originated from 1776 when Napolean presented a double stoned ring as an engagement ring to his love Josephine.
The Ruby gemstone is a lovely deep “pigeons blood” red, it does have a tiny flea bite (visible under a jewellers loupe).
The Diamond is bright, fiery and eye clean.
