Magnificent, 14ct Gold Emerald, Diamond (2.80cts) & Pearl brooch, 74 x 47.5mm
A huge, mid century brooch, boasting around 2.80cts of gemstones!
This stunning piece of jewellery is designed with a central 7x7mm Emerald mounted in a gold millgrain setting, surrounded by eight, diamonds mounted in silver petals contrasting with eight alternating gold petals, this centre floral piece measures 24.5mm and is mounted on a large ‘pear shaped’ foliate and scroll open worked surround.
There are a total of thirty four diamonds, giving a combined carat weight of approximately 1.80cts.
The Emerald is a pale green colour and exhibits characteristic tiny inclusions (known as “jardin,” the French word for garden, as the inclusions may look like branches or plant roots). Inclusions are a natural part of the character of the Emerald. The estimated carat weight is 1.00ct.
Total gemstone weight 2.80cts
At the base of the brooch is a pear shaped cultured Pearl measuring 7.5 x 9.5mm
