Georgian, Gold, natural seed pearl and Amethyst brooch, Circa 1820
A beautiful oval faceted Amethyst, mounted in yellow gold features as the centre piece for this exquisite brooch.
Surrounded by numerous natural seed pearls delicately hand sewn onto a “mother of pearl” double tiered frame giving a three tiered effect. Sadly, (but not surprisingly, considering its age) it is missing the brooch fittings on the back.
There is also some damage and missing pearls to the frame.
The Amethyst (14.5 x 10.5mm) however is in very good condition and is a stunning shade of purple with an estimated carat weight of: 6.00ct.
This brooch could easily be made into a pendant.
This antique pearl & amethyst brooch is beautifully presented in a new black leatherette and velvet box.
