Georgian, 9ct, 9k, 375 Gold & Silver ‘Rose de France’ Amethyst and diamond brooch pin, Circa 1820
Fabulous Georgian brooch beautifully made in 9carat rose gold, featuring a large 18 x 20mm faceted “Rose de France” Amethyst gemstone, surrounded by thirty-one rose-cut diamonds mounted in a foliate design frame.
The Amethyst is a beautiful purple colour with pink and lilac hues, estimated carat weight: 16 carats
Total measurement is 28.8 x 24mm
Complete with T-bar and C- clasp fitting.
Antique brooches tend to have a longer pin, (that extends further than the brooch) this is due to the weight and thickness of the garments worn during this period.
Not hallmarked – tested to at least 9ct gold
