Fine, Art Nouveau 18ct, 18k, 750 Gold Turquoise and diamond pendant on 9ct chain, Circa 1895
Exquisite, Edwardian Turquoise and diamond pendant on chain.
This
beautiful pendant features an oval, 6.5 x 5mm Cabachon Turquoise
mounted in a collet setting, surrounded by twelve, twinkling rose-cut
diamonds. The pendant measures 19 x 10.5mm (including bail). The bail
is a later additon and is hallmarked 750 (denotes 18ct gold) the pendant
has also been tested as 18ct gold. This lovely pendant comes with a
modern 9ct rolo chain (17.5″).
The persian Turquoise is a stunning duck egg blue.
The
rose-cut diamonds are very pretty and sparkly, they have inclusions
(visible under a jewellers loupe) the top diamond (just below the bail)
is slightly yellow.
ROSECUT DIAMONDS – Considered one of the
original diamond cuts, the rose cut diamond dates back to the early
1500s. With anywhere from three to 24 triangular facets, rose cut
diamonds peak into a dome or kite-shape. This structure resembles the
soft curve of a rose petal, hence its name.
