A pretty, dainty Art Nouveau, Amethyst lavaliere necklace featuring a 3mm
Amethyst mounted atop a scroll design open work frame, complete with
elongated gold drop.
A good example from the Art Nouveau period, the
central piece measures 16 x 33mm and is attached to a split, rose gold
chain with bolt and jump ring clasp.

This lavalier necklace is beautifully crafted out of 9ct rose gold, hallmarked verso.
Amethyst is the traditional birthstone for February.
The name Lavalier (also spelt lavalier or lavallière) derived from the name
of the Duchesse de La Vallière (1644-1710), one of the mistresses of
Louis XIV .
