Circa 1901
A beautiful, turn of the century, late Victorian, early Edwardian Swallow, Swift necklace made during the Art Nouveau period.
This gorgeous piece features three swallows in flight mounted with tiny, bright seed pearls. The central swallow measures 29.5 x 19.5mm and is flanked by two, slightly smaller swallows ( 25x15mm) the swallows are mounted with sprays of pearl studded foliage. Intricately designed with each section articulated, allowing natural movement of the pieces. The centre piece has a beautifully pearl mounted, tapered section at either end and is connected to a gold rope chain, complete with a barrel clasp. The centre piece measures 12 x 2.5 cms, weight is 15.3 grams
Hallmarked 15ct (denotes 15carat gold) All pearls look to be original, the necklace is in very good condition except for two small repairs to the chain.
