Exquisite, Art Nouveau 15ct, 15k, 625 Gold Peridot lavaliere necklace, Circa 1895
This Antique Lavaliere necklace, features a central section made in a gold, open worked scroll design, mounted with six, 2mm peridots. Suspended from this section are two drops, each with two matching peridot gemstones, mounted on a knife edged bar, terminating with a pear shaped Peridot.
This centre piece is connected to a rolo link chain with bolt ring clasp fitting.
There are a total of ten, 2mm and two, pear shaped Peridot gemstones all mounted in 15carat gold.
Peridot is the traditional birthstone for August

The name Lavalier (also spelt lavalier or lavallière) derived from the name of the Duchesse de La Vallière (1644-1710), one of the mistresses of Louis XIV, who favoured this style of necklace.
