Exquisite, Edwardian Amethyst & Natural Pearl fringe necklace on 9ct barrel clasp, Circa 1900
Dated around the Late Victorian, Early Edwardian era, this antique necklace is intricately made with a row of tiny basra pearls, suspended from the pearls are seven, oval faceted Amethyst gemstones, attached with gold wire.
Each tiny pearl measures between 2 – 2.5mm and has been hand drilled by skilled jewellers. These stunning Amethyst gemstones are beautifully matched in a vibrant, dark purple colour. The largest Amethyst measures 9.5 x 14mm and the smallest one 8 x 11mm.
Hallmarked for 9ct gold on barrel clasp.
A jaw dropping necklace! each of the Amethyst drops, glisten and dance as the light reflects against the many facets. These necklaces would have no doubt graced the neck of a young lady at her debutante ball.
Amethyst is the traditional birthstone for February.
Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June.
