Edwardian 9ct, 9k, 375 Rose Gold & Bloodstone Fob with two snakes entwined, 1906
Fine, Edwardian 9carat gold, bloodstone fob, beautifully made with a 20 x 15mm bloodstone mounted in a rich rose gold setting, featuring two snakes entwined together with their heads mounted side by side (just below the jump ring).
The snakes have two tiny gold beads for their eyes, details include the mouths – please see images.
The fob is fully hallmarked as follows:
Chester assay mark, 9, 375 (denotes 9carat gold) F (date letter for 1906)
Snakes and serpents motifs were often used in Antique jewellery. Queen Victoria’s engagement ring was a snake, snakes and serpents are an ancient Roman symbol for everlasting love
This antique, romantic fob is beautifully presented in new black leatherette & velvet box as displayed.
