Antique, Exquisite Edwardian 9ct, 9k, 375 Gold Peridot & Pearl festoon necklace, by Barnet Henry Joseph, Circa 1901
Art Nouveau, Peridot & Pearl necklace, designed in a festoon, garland style with three drops each mounted with four, peridot gemstones and a pearl drop, each section is linked together with lengths of gold chain to create a festoon.
The central piece measures 9.5cm wide with a 4cm drop
Hallmarked: 9ct (9carat gold) together with BHJ (on the collar of one of the peridot settings)
Very pretty, this fine necklace would most likely have graced the neck of a young Débutante (French for female beginner). Debutante balls were hosted at the grand houses of the aristocracy for young ladies approaching adulthood, where they were introduced to high society.
The necklace measures 15.25″ / 39 cm, (can be lengthened if needed) – please contact us for more details. The gemstone drops measure 4cm in length.
The Peridot gemstones are a beautiful lime green and are all in very good condition.
Peridot is the traditional birthstone for August
Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June.
