Edwardian, 18ct, 18k, 750 Gold & Plat Sapphire & diamond engagement ring
Circa 1910
A beautiful Edwardian double gemstone twist ring featuring a 4.5mm Sapphire and a 4.2mm old-cut Diamond mounted in a Platinum claw setting on an 18carat yellow gold shank.
The Sapphire gemstone is a beautiful royal blue colour, with a carat weight of approximately 0.35ct.
The old european-cut Diamond displays a clear cutlet, it is deep with an estimated carat weight of 0.30 to 0.35cts.
The diamond is a pale shade of yellow, it is very pretty and sparkly (it has a small abrasion, only visible under a jewellers loupe).
Total carat weight is approx 0.70ct
T his style of ring is often referred to as ‘toi’ et ‘moi’ (you and me) and is a popular choice for an engagement ring. Believed to have originated from 1776 when Napolean presented a double stoned ring as an engagement ring to his love Josephine.
