Exquisite, Edwardian 15ct rose Gold Sapphire, Diamond & Pearl Crescent moon brooch, Circa 1901
A fine, antique crescent, honeymoon brooch featuring a crescent moon and garland mounted in Sapphire, Diamonds and seed pearls.
The crescent is mounted with twelve, cushion-cut diamonds in silver and three Sapphires in a square rose gold mount. The garland features 2, brilliant cut diamonds and 2, Sapphires with three pearl drops.
Diamond carat weight is approximately: 0.45ct
Sapphire carat weight is approximately: 0.35ct
Total gemstone weight: 0.80ct
This striking brooch has vivid royal blue stones depicting the colour of a rich evening sky, with the vibrant rose-cut diamonds, twinkling like stars.
The romantic Victorians and Edwardians gave “honeymoon” brooches to their loved ones on the eve of their wedding, the crescent motif symbolises a new beginning, together as a married couple.
