Description
Fine, Edwardian 15ct, 15k, 625 Yellow Gold Aquamarine & Pearl target, bar brooch
Circa 1905
A pretty Edwardian 15carat gold bar brooch, featuring a central 4.5mm faceted Aquamarine gemstone mounted in a millgrain setting, framed with a gold ring. There are four tiny seed pearls decorating the gold circle. Known as a target brooch, this style of brooch was popular during the Edwardian and Art Deco period.
The central piece is flanked by two tapered gold bars – inspired no doubt by the propellers of the first airplanes (invented around this time).
Hallmarked 15ct (denotes 15carat gold)
Complete with gold pin and C-clasp fastening.
