Description
A fine, Antique crescent, honeymoon brooch featuring a diamond crescent moon with a Ruby.
The crescent is mounted with seven, rose-cut diamonds set in silver (backed in gold) with a sparkling Ruby mounted in a gold claw setting. The crescent motif measures 16 x 7mm and is mounted on a rose gold bar, complete with safety pin style fitting.
The overall measurement is 9 x 36mm.
Hallmarked: none – tested as 15carat gold

Ruby carat weight is approximately: 0.10ct
Total gemstone weight: 0.25ct
This striking brooch has a rich red ruby depicting the colour of a sunset, with the vibrant rose-cut diamonds, twinkling like stars.
The romantic Victorians and Edwardians gave “honeymoon” brooches to their loved ones on the eve of their wedding, the crescent motif symbolises a new beginning, together as a married couple.
