Description
Early Victorian Natural Salmon Pink Coral Beaded Necklace, length 14.75″ / 37.5cm
Antique, Victorian graduated Coral beaded necklace, with a central bead 3.5 x 4.5mm graduating in size to a 2.5 x 3.5mm, hand strung onto a gold metal clasp.
The necklace would probably have been given as a Christening Present (this was a popular gift during the Victorian Period as it was believed that Coral would protect the wearer).
Please see image of Queen Victoria as a young girl wearing a similar coral beaded necklace.
The coral is a lovely salmon pink colour, you can see the natural grain in the close up images
