A pretty Art Nouveau, Diamond, Ruby and Pearl brooch featuring sixteen, rose-cut diamonds mounted in a cross over line with a Pearl and Ruby finial.
Complete with safety pin style fitting.
Romantic Victorian brooch with the Pearls representing purity and the Rubies Passion. Most likely gifted to a bride on her wedding day!
Not hallmarked but tested to at least 9carat gold.

ROSE CUT DIAMONDS
Considered one of the original diamond cuts, the rose cut diamond dates back to the early 1500s.
With anywhere from three to 24 triangular facets, rose cut diamonds peak into a dome or kite-shape.
This structure resembles the soft curve of a rose petal, hence its name
