Exquisite, Art Nouveau 9ct, 9k, 375 Gold Rock Crystal & Pearl pendant, Circa 1895
This beautiful lavaliere pendant is designed in 9ct yellow gold with Rock Crystal & seed Pearls, designed as an abstract cross.
It features a central 7.5mm Rock Crystal mounted in a claw setting with four seed pearls mounted in an inner ring, surrounded by a gold frame with four ornate gold scrolls, designed as a cross.
It is very pretty and is a lovely example from the Art Nouveau period.

Rock crystal is the purest variety of quartz and is transparent and completely colourless. Its name derives from the Greek term krustallos meaning ‘ice’ and it is the sister gemstone to colourful varieties of quartz, such as amethyst and citrine.
