Art Deco 18ct Gold and Platinum Emerald & diamond cluster ring, circa 1920
This pretty ring features a central, square-cut Emerald mounted in a millgrain setting, surrounded by 12, eight-cut Diamonds again mounted in a millgrain setting in platinum on 18ct yellow gold.
There are a total of 12 diamonds each around 1.5mm with an estimated total carat weight of 0.18ct
The Emerald measures 3.7mm and is a lively, vivid green colour with characteristic tiny inclusions (known as “jardin,” the French word for garden, as the inclusions may look like branches or plant roots).
Inclusions are a natural part of the character of the Emerald. There is a tiny chip in the corner of the Emerald (noticeable when viewed under a jewellers loupe) the carat weight is approximately 0.30ct
